When Kollywood and Tollywood film families united for mass blockbusters

Both Tamil and Telugu cinema boasts of several pedigree film families dating back several generations. And with several members of these film families commanding massive fan-following, it’s only natural for the audience to want to see them together on screen. Fortunately, movie-buff’s prayers have been answered on more than one occasion, with multiple film families in both Kollywood and Tollywood joining hands to treat their fans like never before.

We list you seven instances of famous film families in Tamil and Telugu cinema collaborating on the same film.

 1.) Manam (2014)

Featuring three generations of the Akkineni family, Manam is the only instance when fans of Nageswara Rao, Nagarjuna, and Naga Chaitanya got to see all three actors share screen space.

 2.) Vikram (1986)

This action-adventure flick is the only time that Kamal Haasan’s fans got to see him act with his elder brother, Charuhasan.

3.) Deva (1995) and Priyamudan (1998)

Thalapathy Vijay’s father and noted filmmaker, S.A. Chandrasekhar, has shared the screen twice with his superstar son. They’ve appeared in the same films before when Vijay was a child actor, but none prior to Deva and Priyamudan have resulted in them sharing appearing in the same frame.

4.) Magadheera (2009), Bruce Lee - the Fighter (2015), and Khaidi No. 150 (2017)

Father-son duo, Megastar Chiranjeevi and Ram Charan have come together thrice on screen, albeit for cameos in each other’s films. But those scenes have been so bombastic and massy, that they’re worth every second of your time spent watching them.
