Web Series announced on the Mughal dynasty with a stellar cast

Nikhil Advani, producer of the recently released superhit, Satyameva Jayate, and Director of well-received films like Kal Ho Naa Ho, D-Day, and Patiala House, will soon be presenting a web series on the origins of the Mughal Dynasty. The show will trace the journey of the Emperor Babur, with whom the Mughal Empire began and found its roots in India, and is based on the novel, Empire of the Moghul by Alex Rutherford.

The show will boasts a great cast of exemplary actors. Ronit Roy has been signed to essay the main role of Babur while Dia Mirza and legendary actress Shaban Azmi will play the characters of his sister, Khanzada, and grandmother, Esan Daulat. Both women were said to have the ear of Babur and were instrumental in shaping him into the both the conqueror and ruler he became after ascending the throne at the tender age of twelve, post the early demise of his father, Emperor Umar Sheikh.

Shooting for the web series has commenced, with the first schedule in Jaipur already wrapped up. The team bow moves to Karjat for the second schedule.
