Trust Aamir Khan to once again leave us gobsmacked. If Amitabh Bachchan and Fatima Sana Shaikh’s first looks from the hotly anticipated Thugs of Hindostan sent our adrenaline pumping, Katrina Kaif’s, sent temperatures soaring, then that of Aamir’s will leave you stunned for its sheer audacity and also hooked for what layers the character could later reveal.
First of all, one-of-the-biggest superstars in the country is shown as an alcoholic riding a donkey. Secondly, where Bachchan and Shaikh come across as warriors against Lord John Clive (the film’s villain) and the East India Company, Aamir is sporting brown hair (for the first time in his career), a Brit-styled top hat, a British soldier’s coat, and is called Firangi. But, given that he’s the lead actor of the film, you can’t help but also be intrigued by the possibility that his look is merely a camouflage to fool both the film’s antagonists and the audience, and that a true daredevil hides behind it.
Check out the motion poster of Aamir Khan as Firangi from Thugs of Hindostan below:
