Upcoming Sushant Singh Rajput Films That We’sRe Super-Excited For

NEWS

An actor who can effortlessly disappear into his characters like a chameleon and one of the fastest-rising stars in Bollywood combine the two traits and you get Sushant Singh Rajput. After making a smashing debut in 2013’s Kai Po Che, Sushant went on to taste further box-office glory with Shuddh Desi Romance, followed it with the critical darling, Detective Byomkesh Bakshy, and then delivered the biggest hit of his career with M.S. Dhoni: The Untold Story, which many claim to be one of the best performances of Hindi cinema.

The actor may have been hit by the recent failure of Raabta at both the box-office and with the critics, but, as they say, you can push a good man back, but you can’t keep him down. SSR is easily one-of-the-busiest actors in the industry today, with a slew of exciting projects each different in appeal and content line up for release. So, with huge expectations, let’s take a look at Sushant Singh Rajput’s upcoming films:

1) Drive

An action-comedy directed by Tarun Mansukhani of Dostana fame and produced by Karan Johar, Drive promises to be highly entertaining ride for SSR fans, and has the potential to set the box-office on fire. It also brings together the pair of SSR and Jacqueline Fernandez for the first time, and boasts a strong supporting cast, including Sapna Pabbi, Boman Irani, and Raaghav Chanana. So confident is KJo about his films that he’s already planning to expand it into a franchise.

2.) Chanda Mama Door Ke

The films brings together two power house performers in Sushant and Nawazuddin Siddiqui, which is itself reason enough to watch it. There’s also the added incentive of being India’s first space-adventure film, where both actors play astronauts, who are intrinsically involved with India’s space evolution program, culminating with our country’s first manned-landing on the moon. The cast also boasts another stellar actor in the form of R. Madhavan.

3.) Romeo Akbar Walter

This one has SSR playing a RAW agent, but nothing much other than the poster signifying him to either be a hero for the country or a spy for the enemy is known at the time. However, the ambiguity around its premise only adds to the allure of this espionage thriller.

4.) Kedarnath

Kedarnath will have SSR reteam with his Kai Po Che Director, Abhishek Kapoor, so, naturally, a lot is expected from the film. Kapoor also has a point to prove after the debacle of his last release, Fitoor, and we expect a filmmaker of his caliber to make a strong comeback. Saif Ali Khan’s daughter, Sara Ali Khan, will also be making her debut in the film.

Sushant Singh Rajput certainly has one-of-the-most exciting lineup of films to look forward to.
