Tiger Zinda Hai Continues To Roar At The Box-Office On Day Two

After posting one of the biggest opening-day collections of all time, Tiger Zinda Hai roared even louder at the box-office on day two by registering a jump of 3.52% to bring in Rs. 35.30 crore nett. Now that may look really small at first glance, but a deeper analysis reveals when a film gets the kind of opening that TZH received, it usually doesn’t see any growth on day two, especially if it’s a normal working day a fact that’s corroborated by most massive openers like happy New Year, Dhoom 3, Prem Ratan Dhan Payo, Chennai Express, Ek Tha Tiger, or Singham Returns. But with the growth the Salman KhanKatrina Kaif starrer has witnessed, all the signs are evident that it’s trending wonderfully, and is poised for one of the biggest Sunday in Bollywood history.

Day-Wise Nett Collection (INR)
Day One (Friday) 34.10 crore
Day Two (Saturday) 35.30 crore
Total 69.40 crore

The biggest contribution to the film’s growth came from metro multiplexes as the family audience came out in full force, with the good word-of-mouth and positive reviews spreading like wild fire; just as we had predicted yesterday. Again, as expected, there was a slight drop in single-screen collections, which was never going to match up to the hysteria seen on day one. However, Sunday will certainly see a jump at both multiplexes and single screens.

The Ali Abbas Zafar directorial now has two big holidays lined up to really rack up the numbers and finish its extended 4-day weekend on a humongous note. The biggest number should come on Sunday, what with the next day being a national holiday for Christmas. Monday, too, will be bigger than both Friday and Saturday, but not as big as Sunday, as single-screen audiences do not pack theaters as much on Christmas as they do on Edi and Diwali. All things considered, we expected Tiger Zinda Hai to finish its extended weekend in the range of 140-145 crore, setting it up nicely for a blockbuster lifetime run.
