After a slow start on Friday, the Amitabh Bachchan and Nawazuddin Siddiqui starrer, Te3n, has shown good jumps over both Saturday and Sunday. The film’s reviews ranged from positive to average, which could have affected in its opening figures slightly. But an estimated collection of Rs. 11.5 crore nett over the weekend means that the thriller is trending positively, considering that it’s almost entirely reliant on word-of-mouth publicity. If it manages to hold well over the weekdays, then there’s every chance of the movie emerging a success at the domestic box-office.
|Daywise||Collections in Nett|
|Friday||Rs. 2.61 crore|
|Saturday||Rs. 3.90 crore|
|Sunday||Rs. 4.99 crore (approx)|
|Total||Rs. 11.51 crore (approx)|
However, the weekend collections of Te3n are substantially lower than Amitabh Bachchan’s last two films, Wazir and Piku, and is more in line with Shamitabh’s numbers, which performed poorly at the ticket window. Still, Te3n has a much better chance that Shamitabh to turn out as a profitable venture, considering its budget is significantly lesser than the latter.
|Films||Collections in Nett|
|Te3n||Rs. 11.51 crore|
|Wazir||Rs. 21.01 crore|
|Piku||Rs. 25.22 crore|
|Sahmitabh||Rs. 13.25 crore|
The film needed to show good growth over Saturday and Sunday, and it did exactly that. The thriller now needs to hold at around the 2-crore mark over the rest of the week for exhibitors to be confident enough to retain a decent number of the film’s shows in its second week, in spite of an eagerly awaited film like Udta Punjab releasing this Friday.
