These days, everyone is hooked to Hollywood shows, and for good reason. Unlike our desi TV shows, these have innovative storylines, are fast paced and offer plenty of twists. However, there are some Bollywood films, which offer all these things, and that too with an Indian context.
A great example of that is Farhan Akhtar’s upcoming film, Lucknow Central, which also stars Diana Penty, Gippy Grewal, Deepak Dobriyal, Rajesh Sharma, Ronit Roy and Inaamulhaq. The film is based on the story of prison inmates who are asked to form a band, and how they try to use that to escape jail.
Here are four reasons why we think Lucknow Central is as promising as hugely popular Hollywood show, Prison Break.
1. Inmates who aren’t guilty of crimes they are accused of
In Lucknow Central, Kishen is wrongly accused of the murder which he did not commit and is awaiting high court verdict. Prison Break also has Lincoln Burrows who has been wrongfully sent to jail for the crime he did not commit.
2. Escape Drama
In Prison Break, Lincoln sets free with the help of his Brother, Michael's skills. On the other hand, the band members in Lucknow Central plot a plan to escape using music as a shield.
3. There is room for recreational activities in Prison too
The dramatic narrative of Lucknow central portrays the life of the people in jail and how the musical band changed the life of the band members.
In 'Prison Break' apart from all the escape drama, the life of prisoners has been shown in a different way where the convicts indulge in recreational activities such as volley ball and painting while in prison.
4. Bro – Code
Lucknow Central showcases a heartening journey of the under trials Farhan Akhtar, Gippy Grewal, Deepak Dobriyal, Rajesh Sharma and Inaamulhaq. On the other hand, in 'Prison Break' the bond between brothers in addition to the friendships formed while in prison add to the storyline of the series.
