Sanju registers highest single day in history of Bollywood at the box-office; beats Baahubali 2

Sanju has no reached a point where its no longer competing with the films released so far in 2018, but is chasing historical records set previously in Bollywood. The Rajkumar Hirani directorial once again ransacked the box-office on day three, bringing in an eye-popping Rs. 46.71 crore nett (a record for the highest single day), and taking its opening-weekend total to a scarcely believable Rs. 120.06 crore nett (another record).

As the Ranbir Kapoor starrer continues to breach landmarks and tumble records, the films monumental Sunday meant that it beat Baaubali 2s day-3 figure to register the highest single-day collection and, in the bargain, also secure the top spot for this highest opening weekend of all time (3-day weekend) for a Bollywood film. And like Baahubali 2, but unlike most Hindi films on the list, it has achieved all this during a non-holiday weekend.

Its become nothing short of a festive atmosphere in theaters for Sanju, as the audience all across the country, be it in single screens or multiplexes, is loving the film to bits, laughing vigorously at the joyous moments, cheering vociferously at the scenes and dialogues that hit a home run, and shedding buckets at the emotional moments. Sanju is well on its way to becoming a historic grosser at the box-office and a classic for the ages.
