Saiyami Kher, who made a stellar debut with Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra’s Mirzya, is eagerly anticipating the release of her debut Marathi film, Mauli, starring Riteish Deshmukh. The gorgeous actress who will be sharing the screen space with Riteish for the first time in Mauli has gone back to her roots for her character in the movie. Interestingly, not many know that Saiyami is the granddaughter of yesteryear Marathi actress Usha Kiran and since Mauli is her maiden Marathi venture, she wanted to leave no stone unturned in striking the right impact. It’s learnt that Saiyami has watched several movies featuring her late grandmother, primarily the popular Marathi ones to prep for her character in Mauli. To master her command on the language, she has followed her work closely and learnt to speak Marathi fluently for her role in Mauli. Interestingly, Saiyami’s aunt and actress Tanvi Azmi also featured in Riteish’s production, Lai Bhaari.
Saiyami says, “I have high regards for my grandmother Usha Kiran and a huge admirer of her work. I really miss having her around would have learnt so much from her. I have learnt a lot watching her movies and really hope I can live up to her name.
