Rajinikanth donates Rs. 1 crore for farmers


Superstar Rajinikanth recently met the National South Indian Rivers Interlinking Farmers Association at his Poes Farden residence in Chennai, where he donated a mindboggling sum of Rs. 1 crore to their cause of interlinking the rivers of Tamil Nadu, so that farmers could be provide with easier access to irrigational sources.

Ayyakannu, the head of the association, had a lengthy discussion with Thalaivar over the issue, after which it was decided that the actor would deposit the sum into the government’s fund for the project. Rajini has been a huge supporter for the river-interlinking cause ever since the project first started bearing fruit in 2002, and has reiterated several times since then he’d gladly help it develop whenever it would show realistic signs of taking flight.

As always, Rajinikanth has proven to be a man of his word.
