The new Irrfan Khan-Parvathy starrer, Qarib qarib Singlle has managed an average opening day at the box-office, with a collection of Rs. 1.75 crore nett. The film opened to average occupancy and collection saw a boost toward the evening and night shows as the positive reviews and word-of-mouth spread, which holds the film in good stead for the remainder of the weekend.
QQS’s producers and distributors would be hoping that the film goes the Hindi Medium way, which also began on an average note but went on to be one-of-the-biggest surprise hits this year.
If QQS manages good jumps over the next two days and finishes its first weekend in the range of 9-10 crore, then it has every chance of emerging a success at the box-office owing to its small budget and marketing costs. Let’s see how the next few days pan out.
