Director duo — Shiboprosad Mukherjee and Nandita Roy’s Konttho has made it to the headlines ever since it was announced, and now the film is being hailed for its heart-warming subject and brilliant execution from all quarters. Among the several people, who simply can’t stop raving about this soul stirringly beautiful film, is the Padma Bhusan and Padma Shri Awardee — Dr. Devi Shetty.
The renowned doctor recently attended the special screening of Konttho in Bangalore and has been so deeply touched by the film, that he is strongly recommending it as a must-watch for everyone. Dr. Devi Shetty, who is also the chairman and Founder of Narayana Health — a well-known healthcare institute that was associated with Konttho throughout its journey — was so moved by the film that he couldn’t hold back his tears while watching the film.
Dr. Shetty said, “It’s an emotionally touching film that narrates the story of a man who becomes a cancer victim. But the way he fights it back is indeed inspiring. It is truly inspiring for patients who are diagnosed with cancer because the moment a doctor utters the word cancer, then what they have in their mind is doomsday. But Konttho is a film that gives them hope. A hope that they can get back to real life. They can enjoy life, and there is something look forward to. The way they have narrated the story is wonderful.”
Starring Paoli Dam, Jaya Ahsan, and Shiboprosad Mukherjee, Konttho is a film that talks about laryngeal cancer. The film is directed by Shiboprosad Mukherjee and Nandita Roy, the power director duo who has delivered critically acclaimed hit films like Accident, Muktodhara, Alik Sukh, Ramdhanu, Bela Seshe, Haami, Praktan and Posto in the past.
