We the Indians have all grown up with the idea of ‘Fair is Lovely’ drilled deep into our sub conscience. We have all grown up hearing and singing “Hum Kaale Hain to Kya Hua Dilwale Hain” without even realizing how we are supporting racism and fairness obsession.
And like they say, films are a reflection of our society, and Bollywood is no different. We have all grown up idolizing tall, ‘fair’ and handsome heroes, until recently, when actors like Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Rajkummar Rao made their presence felt.
From playing supporting roles in films like Bajrangi Bhaijaan to lead roles in Gangs of Wasseypur, Raman Raghav and Manjhi – The Mountain Man, Nawa has made his presence felt in each role. And just when we felt that the industry was warming up to the change, Nawazuddin Tweeted this.
Thank U 4 making me realise dat I cannot b paired along wid d fair & handsome bcz I m dark & not good looking, but I never focus on that.

When contacted by ANI, Nawaz clarified the air by saying, “I tweeted what I felt. It was an answer to someone but industry as a whole isn’t like that.”
We wonder what made the otherwise calm and collected actor lose his cool!
