Sonakshi Sinha is one of the most-sought after and drop-dead gorgeous actresses working in Bollywood today. But there was a time, when she was a cute, little awkward pre-teen, just like all of us. Now we all know that Sonakshi is also daddy’s little girl till today. So back in 1999, the adorably chubby Sona had accompanied daddy dear, Shatrugan Sinha, along with filmmaker Subhash Ghai at the Zee Cine Awards to hand out the Best Director trophy.
Call it luck or call it fate, but Ghai, who was supposed to announce the winner, handed over the envelope to Sonakshi, and entrusted her with the responsibility. However, she displayed amazing confidence and composure for a 12-year old, calmly opened the envelope, and announced the winner, who was none other than Karan Johar, receiving the award for his debut film – the all-time blockbuster, Kuch Kuch Hota Hai.
For a pre-teen, we must say that Sona had showcased amazing poise while sharing the stage with such dignitaries. No wonder, she’s turned out to be the star that she is today.
Watch the entire exchange below:
We hope that one day Karan decides to cast Sonakshi in one of his films. What do you say, Karan? For old times sake.
