We had recently reported about the Rs. 1000-crore multilingual project on the Mahabharata, being produced by UAE-based businessman and philanthropist, Dr. B.R. Shetty, which will star Malayalam cinema superstar, Mohanlala, as Bheem, and will be directed by popular ad-filmmaker turned feature film Director, V.A. Shrikumar Menon. The film is being split into two parts, and is expected to go on floors from September 2018. However, other than Mohanlal, no other actor’s name has been associated with the project. That is, till now.
Noted Telugu actor, Nagarjuna, who’s one of Tollywood’s leading stars, has been approached for the role of Karna, and he’s giving serious thought to the offer. In an interview to Indiaglitz, Nagarjuna confirmed that while the offer is on the table, he’d rather do a small role in the film, provided the role would be vital to the plot.
“The offer is there. I’ve told them that I’ll do a small role, if it’s important for the story. If it’s not important, I can’t do it. As for the (film’s) idea, it has been mooted four years ago itself. I’ve read one of the works of the screenplay writer, and it’s great.”

Now, we think that Nag would make a fantastic Karna, and hope that he changes his mind about only being interested in a small role.
