Mahesh Babu fans had gone into with excitement in the lead up to the superstar’s 42nd birthday, filling social media with several nostalgic posts, amazing trivia, witty quizzes, sweet gestures, and, most of all, a massive outpour of anticipation for his 25th film, which had been temporarily christened SSMB25. Well, their excitement and love were duly rewarded by the actor with a triple treat as he unveiled the first-look poster, title, and the name of his character in his 25th film at the stroke of midnight as he brought in his 42nd birthday.
Titled Maharshi, the film’s first look has Mahesh in a cool yet casual look, attired in blue denims and chequered red-and-grey short shirt, accompanied by a laptop clasped in his right palm, which gives a slight indication that Price (as he’s fondly referred to by his legion of fans across the globe) is playing a contemporary, possibly tech-savvy, role. While that part of his role is pure conjecture based on what we’ve gathered from the actor’s look, the poster does confirm that his character is named ‘Rishi’.
Maharshi is directed by Vamshi Paidipally (Brindavanam, Yevadu, Oopiri), and is jointly produced by Sri Venkateswara Creations, Vyjayanthi Movies, and PVP Cinema. It follows the stupendous success of Mahesh Babu’s last release, Bharat Ane Nenu, which became only the third Tollywood film to gross over 200 crore worldwide, making the anticipation for the superstar’s 25th film all the more rambunctious. The film is slated to hits screen on 5th April 2019.
