Katrina Kaif replacing Priyanka Chopra in Bharat leads to extensive script changes

Bollywood NEWS

Now that Katrina Kaif has replaced Priyanka Chopra in Bharat, after the latter’s sudden exit for her Hollywood film, Cowboy Ninja Viking, the makers are working overtime to quickly change her character. Priyanka’s role was that of a fast-talking fiery North Indian, fluent in Hindi, which is something Katrina can’t pull off. It was one of the reasons that Priyanka bagged the role in the first place after sending feelers, even though Katrina was always Director Ali Abbas Zafar and Salman Khan’s first choice.

So, in order to avoid any hassles during the shoot, Zafar and his leading man, Salman, who’s also one of the film’s producers, are reworking the script at the last moment to alter Katrina’s character, transforming it into someone who matches her natural Anglicized Hindi accent. A source close to the production reveals that this has put them in quite a fix, but they’ve been left with no other option on a count of Pee Cee’s unexpected exit.

Nevertheless, the changes can’t be sweeping as the script has already been locked. So, Katrina is already working hard on her body language and accent to get into a desi mold for the film. Let’s see how she handles it.
