The Karthi – Nagarjuna starrer Thozha has opened to unanimous positive reviews from all corners, and the story is the same for the Telugu version, Oopiri as well. Karthi’s performance is being talked about as the biggest plus point, and the star is at his natural, spontaneous, uninhibited self in the film. Paruthiveeran – Arguably, the best ever debut performance by an Indian male actor! Karthi shocked one and all with the quality of his acting in his very first film, as a rough and tough villager who transforms after falling in love.
Aayirathil Oruvan – Karthi played a poor working class porter who goes on a dangerous expedition with explorers. His role takes on a totally different shade after a point in the film. It was a very tough 2nd film for any actor to take on.
Naan Mahaan Alla – This was Karthi’s first breezy part and he was a complete natural on screen. He was also very convincing as the bearded youngster gunning for revenge.
Siruthai – Karthi played dual roles, that of a rogue and a majestic police officer, with aplomb. Siruthai was a major commercial success.
Madras – Karthi didn’t mind playing second fiddle in a landmark political film set in North Madras. He was one among the many actors who impressed in this film, where the script was king.
Komban – Karthi was back to rural mode, sporting a royal handlebar mustache and his screen presence was terrific. He made sure that the Paruthiveeran hangover wasn’t felt by the audiences.
