The best news we’ve heard in a long time from the world of Bollywood is that Irrfan Khan looks to be recuperating quite well in London, where he’s undergoing treatment for Neuroendocrine tumor – a very rare form of brain cancer. To add to the joy of this heartening development is the possibility that Irrfan will soon be seen on screen again – something that seemed highly in doubt when the devastating news of the star’s cancer had broken out, followed by him having to drop out of Vishal Bhardwaj’s film with Deepika Padukone and the Amazon political satire show, Gormint.
Word is that Producer Dinesh Vijan and the other makers of the Hindi Medium sequel flew down to London recently to meet the actor upon knowing that he’s doing much better than earlier. The meeting consisted of a script narration, post which Irrfan gave his consent to doing the film. And with no other project currently in his kitty, Hindi Medium 2 (tentative title) looks likely to be the actor’s comeback film once he’s fully convalesced.
Sources close to the production reveal that the sequel to Hindi Medium will advance the plot ten years, and will revolve around Irrfan’s character Raj and his onscreen daughter Pia and hos their relationship has evolved, with the Hindi language obviously being the backdrop against which the plot will be set.
