A lead role in a hit film is the start every Bollywood aspirant dreams of, regardless if you’re a star kid or from outside the industry. And if you land a multi-starrer by one of the most prestigious production houses in the country, featuring the who’s who of Bollywood, straight after your successful debut, then you’ve got to feel on cloud nine. Well, those are exactly the emotions that Janhvi Kapoor must be experiencing right now.
Fresh off her first film Dhadak, which garnered her appreciation for her performance hit the bullseye at the box-office, Janhvi has bagged Takht as her sophomore outing – a film where she’ll star alongside Ranveer Singh, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Alia Bhatt, Vicky Kaushal, Bhumi Pednekar, and Anil Kapoor; four of these six are huge stars and all of them accomplished actors. Obviously, the gal must be on top of the world, but we wanted to hear how she must be feeling after bagging the biggie in her own words, and got the perfect opportunity recently at the success party of Dhadak.
“What can I say? I’m still in shock. It hasn’t sunk in yet. It’s a big deal for me and I am eternally grateful and feel so blessed that Karan (Johar) has allowed me to be part of this journey. It’s quite difficult to put my feeling in words at the moment, but I am obviously very excited and overwhelmed. I just hope to live up to expectations and do a good job.”
Well, it’s certainly great when you have a mentor like Karan Johar looking over you in the industry, isn’t it? We do hope that Janhvi lives up to the faith he’s placing in her.
