A few months ago, there were speculations doing the rounds that Akshay Kumar was on board for the official remake of Director A.R. Murugadosss Tamil blockbuster, Kaththi, starring Ilaya Thalapathy Vijay. In fact, news had come in that the makers had even zeroed in on Ikka as the title of the Hindi version and that Murugadoss was committed to helming the remake of his own film. However, since then, there has been no word on the film.
Now, in an unexpected turn of events, Hrithik Roshans name has cropped up for the Kaththi remake. As per sources, the actor has been approached by the producers of the film, and he has given his consent to the project. However, its unclear whether Murugadoss would be still directing it.

If the project does take off, it would be the second time that Kaththi would be remade after its Telugu version, title Khaidi No. 150, released earlier this year.
