Highest Grossing Tamil Films Of 2016

2016 has been a fantastic year for Tamil cinema in general. Besides delivering some noteworthy critical gems, Kollywood also scored big at the box-office, both domestic and worldwide, and has ended the year with huge profits.

As many as four films crossed the 100-crore mark – a first for the Tamil film industry in a calendar year – and we also witnessed the first 300-crore Tamil grosser courtesy Superstar Rajinikanth’s Kabali. Overall, a high success ratio was maintained at the box-office and the ROI on investments, too, was pretty good for the distributors. More importantly, many commercial hits also scored well with the critics, which is always a sign that the year has ended on a good note.
