Good content coupled with the stardom of an actress that refuses to fade with the audience has resulted in Hichki doing fantastic business over its first weekend at the box-office. The business on Sunday was almost double than what the film had collected on Monday, showing that the Rani Mukerji starrer is trending really well, with family audiences wholeheartedly embracing it, especially in the metros. A total of Rs. 15.40 crore nett over the opening weekend is a terrific number for a small female-centric film, targeted at metro centers, and starring an actress whose last release was four years ago.

The film has been made on a well-controlled budget of just 20 crore, including print and advertising, which makes recovery all but certain. In fact, the film should definitely be a hit now unless the weekdays witness drastic drops. The first quarter of 2018 has begun an a really positive note compared to previous years, with Padmaavat, Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety, Raid, and now Hichki all ringing in the cash at the box-office. Pad Man also did reasonably well for its taboos subject and Baaghi 2, too, is set for a strong opening. All-in-all, a fantastic start to the year.
