Mickey J Meyer will be the most talked about composer next month.
Two of the films for which he has worked on, ‘Brahmotsavam’ and ‘A Aa’, will be testing their waters with their soundtrack albums in the first week of May.
‘Brahmotsavam’ comes with the tags of Mahesh Babu and Srikanth Addala. Srikanth’s film is said to be a family drama in which Samantha, Kajal Aggarwal, and Pranitha Subhash are set to make a big splash. Samantha and Kajal have starred together in Vamsi Paidipally’s ‘Brindavanam’. Samantha was like a new kid on the block at the time of ‘Brindavanam’s’ release because only a handful of her films had released until then whereas Kajal had ‘Magadheera’ behind her. Now, Kajal and Samantha are both “most wanted” actresses in Tamil and Telugu cinema.
Samantha is also the connecting link between ‘Brahmotsavam’ and ‘A Aa’ as she plays the lead in both films. Mickey is known for soulful music. His association with Sekhar Kammula speaks for it. Of course, his music for Srikanth’s films, too, has a neat touch, no doubt. These movies are particularly important for the composer as they come with a sea-load of expectations. One has a huge star cast with a sensible man in the director’s chair and another film comes from the director of popular (also, evergreen) entertainers. Mickey can’t let his fans down, and more importantly, he can’t let the fans of the stars down. ‘Brahmotsavam’s’ teaser, which was released on New Year’s Eve, had a touch of Mickey’s mastermind. The background score in ‘A Aa’s’ teaser is ear-pleasing, as well.
If Mickey has rightly pushed these tiny versions of his genius into the larger scheme of things in the upcoming movies, he’ll be giving us two great albums soon. There are other films coming from his musical bags later this year. But that’s another story.
‘A Aa’s’ audio will be out on May 2nd and ‘Brahmotsavam’s’ audio will be out on May 6th.
Let’s keep and calm and wait for Mickey’s gems!
