Here S When Bollywood S Superstars Last Delivered A Flop


When we think of superstars like Salman Khan, Aamir Khan and Shah Rukh Khan, the first thing that comes to our mind is award winning performances and spectacular Box Office records. But, rarely do we think about the times when the superstars dealt with films which were declared flops or even Box Office disasters. And remarkably, all of them managed to brush off failure and were back in the race in no time.

Here’s lowdown on the last flops delivered by the superstars

1) Salman Khan – Tubelight

Salman Khan was considered the undisputed king of the Box Office and 4 of his consecutive films crossed the 200 cr mark out of which two (Sultan, Bajrangi Bhaijaan) even managed to cross the 300 cr mark.

But all that changed with the release of Tubelight, which turned out to be a flop The film grossed only 119.26 crores at the domestic Box office. The distributors of the film incurred huge losses, and Salman reimbursed the distributors and exhibitors to make up for their losses.


2) Aamir Khan – Mangal Pandey – The Rising

Mr. Perfectionist Aamir Khan has the reputation of working meticulously on each film for years. And it’s not surprising that Aamir Khan has had not had a flop in the last 12 years!

Last time Aamir Khan starred in a flop film was back in 2005. Mangal Pandey – The Rising, which starred Aamir Khan and Ameesha Patel didn’t do well. But since then, Aamir has been invincible.

3) Shah Rukh Khan – Jab Harry Met Sejal

Shah Rukh Khan hasn’t been on the top of his game, at least as far as Box Office is concerned. However, he BO record hit a new low when Jab Harry Met Sejal, a love story, turned out to be a disaster at the Box Office. The Imtiaz Ali film was a non-starter at the ticket window, and collected only 64 crores domestically.

4) Akshay Kumar – Brothers

In the past 13 months, Akshay Kumar has set a sort of new record by giving 4 back to back 100 crore films(Airlift, Rustom, Housefull 3, Jolly LLB 2). However, Akshay Kumar last tasted failure with Brother, which had released back in 2015.

5) Hrithik Roshan – Mohenjo Daro

Hrithik Roshan made his debut with a blockbuster film, but his overall box office numbers keep on oscillating. While the actor has starred in blockbusters like Koi Mil Gaya, Krrish, dhoom 2 and Krrish 3; he has been a part of BO debacles like Kites and Guzaarish. Last year, Hrithik made a comeback after a gap of two years with Mohenjo Daro, but sadly, the film was a Box Office disaster.

But the actor played the lead role in Kaabil after Mohenjo Daro and he was able to somewhat redeem his Box Office record.

6 Ajay Devgn – Shivaay

Ajay Devgn spent years working on his dream project, Shivaay, which he also directed. The film was an ambitious project with spectacular foreign locations and breath-taking stunts. But sadly, the film did materialise as per expectations and flopped. Ajay Devgn is currently shooting for Baadshaho, Golmaal Again and is writing the script of Sons of Sardaar).
