NTR was originally considered for caretaker’s role in Oopiri, which has now been played by Karthi. Director Vamshi Paidipally was keen on roping in NTR, however, the latter had serious date issues and hence, walked out of the project, despite showing interest initially.
It was after NTR’s exit from the project that Vamshi had approached Karthi, who was initially reluctant to star in a multi-starrer since he’s never worked in one and was also apprehensive about the adaption of a French film into Tamil and Telugu. But when Karthi was narrated the adapted version of the story, he immediately jumped at the opportunity.
The film releases in cinemas on Friday along with its Tamil version Thozha. Also starring Nagarjuna as a quadriplegic millionaire, and Tamannaah as his assistant, the film is produced by PVP Cinema.
