John Abraham and Sonakshi Sinha starrer, Force 2, has managed to hang on in its first week at the domestic box-office. By bringing in a respectable Rs. 30.15 crore nett, the film has shown that it has strong legs courtesy the positive word-of-mouth and good reviews.

No doubt that demonetization has eaten into 25-30% of the films earnings hitherto, particularly in B and C centers since the film appeals more to the single-screen audience. However, that only emphasizes the fact that the appreciation for Force 2 has grown among the audience since its opening day, even in A centers a fact resonated by how its week one collections have surpassed that of what the first film made in its entire lifetime run. Additionally, the film has also gone past the first-week collections of both Sonakshi and Johns last releases, Akira and Rocky Handsome.
|Films||Collections in Nett (INR)|
|Force 2||30.15 crore|
|Rocky Handsome||22.85 crore|
Force 2 needs to touch the 50-crore mark to break even at the box-office. Though Dear Zindagi has released this Friday, it has got a limited release despite being an SRK starrer, and is targeted more towards multiplexes, giving the Abhinay-Deo directed film a strong chance of doing reasonably well in its second week too. The film needs to collect between 8-9 crore in its second weekend to emerge as a cost-recovering venture for its investors.
