Ever since Ranveer Singh and Rohit Shetty came together for a noodle ad, everybody’s been guessing if and when they’d unite for a film as the former’s energy and dynamism coupled with the latter’s zany direction and propensity for masala entertainment would make the combination nothing short of bombastic. Well, no need to hold your horse any longer because the tie-up is finally happening. Ranveer and Shetty have joined hands for a film titled, Simmba, which will be an official remake of the blockbuster Telugu movie, Temper, which had Jr. NTR and Kajal Aggarwal in lead roles.
The film also marks the first time that Rohit Shetty and Karan Johar will be coming together for a project as Johar is on board to co-produce Simmba along with Reliance Entertainment, who bankroll most of Shetty’s films. The team has also released the first-look poster of the movie, and it perfectly exudes the madcap energy and electrifying vibe that we could expect from the finished product. It also bears the release date, which is slated for Christmas time next year. Check out the poste below:

The original film had NTR playing a corrupt albeit lovable cop, who does a U-turn on his roguish ways when the smuggler he usually collaborates with wants to murder a woman who’s witness to a crime. If Simmba follows this plot-line and adapts it to Hindi-film standards, just like Shetty did admirably with Singham, then the film will be nothing short of a total blast.
