After an alarmingly slow start, the alarm bells didn’t stop ringing for Fanney Khan as the film failed to show any sort of notable growth over its opening weekend, finishing off with an abysmally low collection of Rs. 7.15 crore nett, which has all but sealed its fate at the box-office.
|Day-Wise||Nett Collection (INR)|
|Day One (Friday)||2.15 crore|
|Day Two (Saturday)||2.35 crore|
|Day Three (Friday)||2.65 crore|
The collections indicate that despite still being an ace performer, Anil Kapoor no longer commands the same box-office draw like he did from the mid-80s to mid-90s and neither does Aishwarya Rai Bachchan (mid-2000s). It also puts Rajkummar Rao’s pull into perspective, clearly showing that though there’s no question about how great an actor he is, he still has some distance to cover before his stardom rises with the audience.
With a landing cost of 35 crore and just tend days to go before Gold and Satyameva Jayate hit screens, only a miracle of epic proportions can save Fanney Khan from being a disaster at the box-office.
