In a classic case of real imitating the reel, Deepika Padukone, who’s essaying the eponymous character of Padmavati, recently visited the Padmavati temple in Tirupati and sought the blessings of Goddess Padmavati. While there, she also visited the nearby Tirumala temple to seek the blessings of Lord Venkateswara.
Incidentally, Lord Venkateswara and Goddess Padmavati were betrothed to each other, with the latter also known among devotees as the reincarnation of Goddess Lakshmi. Deepika, who has visited Itrumala temple numerous times before, decided on this occasion to make a trip to Padmavati temple, too.
A source close to the actress revealed that she really wanted to seek the blessings of Padmavati prior to the release of her film (of the same name), and visiting the temple was nothing short of a surreal experience for her. In fact, Deepika made time for her hectic promotional schedule to visit the temple.
Padmavati, which is directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali, also stars Ranveer Singh and Shahid Kapoor, and is slated for release on 1st December 2017.
