Dangal Beats Pk To Become Bollywood S Highest Grosser Of All Time

After going past both Sultan and Bajrangi Bhaijaan to emerge as the highest grosser of 2016 and the second-highest all-time Bollywood grosser, it was only inevitable that Dangal would finally knock PK off the top perch on Bollywood’s all-time highest-grossers list. However, no would have ever thought that the inevitable would have happen so soon. With Rs. 31.79 crore nett over its third weekend, the sports biopic has collected Rs. 345.30 crore nett so far to overtake PK in just seventeen days, making it one of the best-trending films in the history of Indian cinema.

As you can see, Dangal towers over every other entry on the list. It should also be noted that beside individual entries by Shah Rukh Khan and Hrithik Roshan, it has been Aamir Khan all the way when it comes to setting and breaking his own records for the highest grosser of all time.

Along with this latest landmark, the Nitesh Tiwari film has also set a few other international records:

1.) Highest-grossing Hindi film at the North American box-office (USA-Canada)

2.) Highest-grossing Hindi film at the Australian box-office

By virtue of its fantastic overseas run, Dangal is also fast approaching the 650-crore mark worldwide. It has already overtaken Bajrangi Bhaijaan’s worldwide gross (619.10 crore) and is posing a serious challenge to PK’s worldwide record (754.54 crore).

At the rate at which it’s performing, with no signs of slowing down, we wonder what sort of numbers will Dangal eventually finish with, and how long would it take for another film to finally beat them.
