Bollywood actors with the most blockbuster films at the box-office

Bollywood Box-Office Top

Delivering hits and superhits consistently is no mean feat for any actor, especially in today’s times of digital platforms and escalating ticket prices in multiplexes. Boasting an enviable track record at the box-office speaks volumes of the actor’s script sense, trust with reputable filmmakers, pull with the audience, and stardom developed over years of hard-work. But even among these actors, there are extremely few who can claim to have frequently dished out blockbusters. Very rarely does an actor – even successful ones – get a chance to be a part of a blockbuster film, so imagine how rare it must be for one to have a bunch of such films to their name.

Yet, there have been and continue to be leading men in Bollywood who have been a part of a cluster of blockbusters when several others struggle to have the same amount of clean hits to their credit. It started with the trio of Dilip Kumar, Dev Anand, and Raj Kapoor back in the 50s and 60s, continued with the likes of Manoj Kumar, Rajesh Khanna, Dharmendra, Amitabh Bachchan, Vinod Khanna, and Rishi Kapoor, was taken forward by Sunny Deol in the 90s, followed by the three Khans from the mid-90s right till now.

The longevity of SRK, Salman, and Aamir being associated with those mega-grossers has bemused many a trade analyst, but it shouldn’t be forgotten that even the likes of Dilip saab, Dharam Paaji, and the Big B have as many similar box-office monsters in their filmography. These six soar head-and-shoulders above the rest who In fact, Hrithik Roshan looked like another one poised to match them not so long ago, before his career hit a rough patch over the past couple of years. But, we’re confident that he’ll get back on track soon enough, just like Ranbir Kapoor – the latest entrant to join these stalwarts – recently made a roaring comeback.
(Note: An actor must have at least three blockbuster to his credit to qualify. Also, cameos or minor roles in blockbusters – like Salman in Kuch Kuch Hota Hai or Vinod Khanna in Dabangg – aren’t considered.)
