It’s wonderful to see a completely new and improved version of Bobby Deol – fit, fine, dapper, fresh, and rejuvenated. His absence from the silver screen and public view (a 4-year break is a huge deal for an actor still in his prime) due to personal reasons, coupled with his reluctance to play the social-media game, has resulted in today’s audience forgetting his innings as a popular solo, lead actor.
The fact of the matter is that for a sizeable period from the late 90s to the early 2000s, Bobby was a genuine box-office draw, having delivered both solo and multi-starrer hits. In fact, he had delivered seven hits over the first seven years of his career, which is more than can be said for some hyped, media-created stars, thriving for years on social-media frenzy, without having delivered the same number of hit films throughout their entire career.
As for his skills as an actor, well, even though this story is about setting Bobby’s box-office record straight, we’d like to state for posterity that if one were to look at his work free from the negative influence of social media, there’s a lot to be appreciated in his performances.
So, without further ado, let’s take a look at Bobby Deol’s biggest box-office hits so far:
|Film||Year||Nett Collection (INR)||Verdict|
|Yamla Pagla Deewana||2011||54.94 crore||Hit|
We have missed Bobby Deol, his inimitable swag, and, most of all, that innocent charm of his on the big screen. It’s good to see him again bagging big projects, and here’s hoping to see much more of him in many more hit films in the coming years.
