The storm of Baahubali: The Conclusion finally hit the screens today and the Box Office has been shaken out of the lull. The film had an unprecedented buzz and advance booking was at an all-time high. No other film in any language dared to clash with Baahubali 2 and the film opened across almost 6500 in India.
The film opened to an unbelievable 95% occupancy throughout the country and showed a similar trend during the rest of the day. In fact some single screen cinemas added extra chairs to accommodate more people. Going by the trend, the film should be able to collect somewhere in the range of 75 80 crores on Day 1, which beats every other film by a huge margin.
The current film which holds the record for highest opening day collection is Salman Khans Prem Ratan Dhan Payo, which made 55 crores(gross) followed by superstar Rajinikanths Kabali, which made 53 crores (gross). The record for highest collections on a single day is held by Aamir Khans Dangal, which made 59 crores(gross) on Day 3.
Going by the trend, Baahubali 2 will beat all these records by a huge margin. It is being speculated that the film may cross the 250 crore mark within the first weekend itself.
