Akshay Kumar has given numerous unforgettable performances. Vipul Shah’s 2007 film Namastey London is considered one of Akshay’s best performances. His portrayal of a Punjabi boy in this love story was praised by many. ‘Namastey England’, the second instalment of the film was set to be made with Akshay himself in the lead again. However, now it is reported that Arjun Kapoor’s name is considered by the makers to play the lead role in the Namastey London sequel.
It is believed that Akshay has quit the film because of his other commitments and makers are positively thinking of replacing him with Arjun. There were rumours that Sonakshi Sinha will play the female lead. Now the news is doing rounds that Parineeti Chopra has been approached for the lead role.
There is also a news that AKshay has given a go-ahead for Arjun’s name; putting aside all speculations about fallout between him and Vipul Shah.
Unlike Akshay’s Arjun Singh in Namastey London, the sequel will show a mischievous romeo as the central character. Just like the prequel, Namastey England is set to be filmed in Punjab and United Kingdom, and is set to go on floors in 2018.
