Anushka Sharma has fast built a reputation for herself as a versatile performer, capable of delivering powerful performances and playing the romantic interest with equal aplomb, while also being a force to reckon with at the box-office, holing her own against much-bigger males stars and also boasting enough clout to bring in the audience for female-centric films running entirely on her shoulders. In short, she’s become one of the top leading ladies of Bollywood in under a decade since making her debut. So, with great expectations, we look forward to Anushka Sharma’s forthcoming films:

Anushka is playing a battered, bruised, and traumatized wife, who decides to finally fight back. While such stories are not new to Hindi cinema, we’re dying to see how Anushka plays the role, and if the treatment is fresh, with a novel method of vengeance thrown in, then we’re game for the film. We hope that her third production venture turns out more like the amazing NH10 and less like Phillauri.

Anushka plays a journalist who chronicles Dutt’s life in the film, and we can’t wait to see team up again with Rajkumar Hirani and Ranbir Kapoor (who plays the eponymous role), in what should be an immersive biopic on one-of-the-most controversial stars in Bollywood’s history.

After being in a spate of serious films since the release of PK (which also had its intense moments), we wish nothing more than to see Anuhska let her hair down in a lighthearted comedy. We also hope that her second innings with Diljit Dosanjh fares better than their first outing together. Plus, there’s Arjun Kapoor for company, and the three of them sure do make for an interesting cast. Incidentally, this will also be Anushka’s fourth production.
4.) Sui Dhaaga

Based on Modi’s ‘Make in India’ campaign and Gandhiji’s earlier philosophies, Sui Dhaga will see Anushka opposite Varun Dhawan for the first time in a YRF film from Sharat Katariya, the Director of Dum Laga Ke Haisha. This one certainly looks extremely pormising.

For all itnents and purposes, this one isn’t just Anushka’s most keenly awaited film of 2018, but easily among the most-anticipated films of the year for a number of reasons. Firstly, it has Shah Rukh play an unprecedented role in his career; secondly, it reunites Anushka with her Jab Tak Hai Jaan costars, SRk and Katrina Kaif; thirdly because whatever Director Rai touches seems to turn to gold; and finally and most importantly, because of the supposedly ingenious concept wherein it appears like the audience will finally get to see SRK in a film worthy of his talents after some time.
Anushka sure does look to have ticked all the right boxes in 2017, with an interesting mix of upcoming projects. Fingers crossed that they live up to their promise.
