It’s a casting coup of epic proportions. After the smash success of Sone Ke Titu Ki Sweety, preceded by the Pyaar Ka Punchnama franchise, Director Luv Ranjan has pulled a rabbit out of the hat by bringing together Ajay Devgn and Ranbir to star in his next directorial venture. Two powerhouse performers being guided under the watchful eye of a Director that’s begun to hit his straps big time should be a treat to watch on the big screen.
It’s not yet known whether the film will be in Ranjan’s preferred comedy genre, but the biggest takeaway so far is that after ages, Hindi cinema is again witnessing 2-hero film (a common trend from the 70s to the 90s, and intermittently seen in the first decade of the 2000s as well). Barring Padmaavat in recent times (which was more of a hero-heroine-villain project with big names), Bollywood audiences have been starved of a proper dual-hero film for a long time.
Devgn is also currently shooting for a film being produced by Ranjan, which also stars Rakul Preet and Tabu, so this’ll mark his second outing for the filmmaker’s banner, though his first under his direction. On the other hand, it’s the first collaboration all round between Ranjan and Ranbir.
