Aishwarya Rai appears to be going full pelt ahead with her comeback, and the next cog in her comeback wheel is Director Anurag Kashyap and husband Abhishek Bachchan. Post Jazbaa, Sarbjit, Ae Dil hai Mushkil, and Fanney Khan (four film in two years since her comeback), Aishwarya, who’s still regarded as one-of-the-most-beautiful women in the world, will be reuniting after eight years with husband Abhishek for Kashyap’s Gulab Jamun.
Reportedly, the project was offered to them about a year and a half ago, and though they were keen to do the film then, it couldn’t materialize because of their unavailability of dates. However, Kashyap and Abhishek again began talking about Gulab Jamun during the shoot of Manmarziyan, which they’re currently working on together, and since the couple had dates this time, they quickly gave their consent for the film. The content is also said to have spurred their decision, especially Aishwarya’s, who firmly believes that a script needs to be really exciting for a real-life couple to come on board.
While it’s welcoming news that Abhi-Ash are reuniting on screen, one needs to temper their enthusiasm just a bit on account of their track record together. The couple has done eight films in the past, a couple even before they become close, of which only two, Guru and Dhoom 2, have worked, with the latter not even having them paired together. Let’s hope that Gulab Jamun will be their third success together.
