Aamir Khan’sS Dangal Becomes The First Indian Film To Cross The 2000 Crore Mark At Box Office

Aamir Khan’s Dangal, which has been directed by Nitesh Tiwari, is the second highest grossing Hindi film at the domestic Box Office. The film was highly appreciated in the country and gave out the message of empowerment of women in a subtle and entertaining manner.

However, the popularity of the film in China is unprecedented. The film grossed 2.5 crores on day 53 at the China BO and its worldwide collections now stand at a staggering 2000 crore, the first ever for any Indian film. Recently, at the BRICS film festival, Chinese filmmaker, Lu Chuan said, “Dangal has inspired Chinese filmmakers. Its actors are not mega-stars in our country. There wasn’t a lot of promotion for it in China. I think Indian films really taught us a lesson this time. Chinese audiences are easily moved by such simple straightforward and beautiful story.”

Worldwide success of Dangal in China has surely opened new avenues for Indian filmmakers and all eyes now on Baahubali 2, which is scheduled to release in China later this year
