During the trailer launch of Thugs of Hindostan, Amitabh Bachchan revealed that he’ll begin shooting for his next film, Jhund, directed by Nagraj Manjule of Sairat fame, soon after the former is released in theaters. While that didn’t come as a surprise to many, what took us aback was Bachchan’s disclosure that he took up Jhund only after his Thugs costar Aamir had recommended him to.
“Once this (Thugs of Hindostan) is released, I will begin shooting for Jhund in November. It’s a true story about this gentleman, Vijay Barse, who got underprivileged kids from chawls and prevented from taking the wrong path in life by getting them together to play as a football team. I had discussed this film with Aamir (Khan), who recommended that I do it. And you know what happens when Aamir endorses something. So, there was no question after that about me doing Jhund.”
Well, we wholeheartedly agree with you, Mr. Bachchan – we all know what happens when Aamir endorses something.
