When we love a Bollywood movie, the only thought that goes on in our mind is ‘we wish it could’ve been a little longer’. Thanks to the makers of such movies, sequels come to the rescue! While it’s true that there are some triquels that we absolutely love, there are also some movies that we’re done and dusted with! Adding one more to the franchise feels like a complete waste of time and money. Well, here’s a list of triquels released in Bollywood, some classics and some we’re totally bored of –

1. Sarkar

Ram Gopal Verma’s Sarkaar series are quite a hit among the audience. The franchise stars Amitabh Bachchan, who’s a constant in all as his intense look totally steals the show. The movie is a political crime thriller and sometimes, it also replicates the ongoing political scenario in our country. With powerful dialogues and a dark theme, these series never fail to surprise the audience and leave us wanting for another addition.

Sarkar (2005) was based on the Marathi politics in India, Sarkar Raj was based on the scenario after a 2 year leap and Sarkar 3 is said to be based on the current political situation of India.

2. Jolly LLB

Jolly LLB was one of the most-underrated films when it released, starring Arshad Warsi. But as soon as people started watching the film, they realised how great this courtroom drama is. The movie received a lot critical acclaim and the makers decided to go with Jolly LLB 2. Jolly LLB 2 was not a sequel but it was another film from the same franchise with a different storyline starring Akshay Kumar.

While Jolly LLB had a decent run at the box-office, Jolly LLB 2 saw immense success when it came to box-office numbers. Both the films easily connect with the common man, Jolly LLB stressed on the issue of drunk driving and the mishaps it leads to; at the same time, Jolly LLB 2 was a satire on the Indian legal system and a lawyer who fights against the powerful and corrupt.

3. Golmaal

Golmaal, directed by Rohit Shetty is a comedy drama that happens to be one of the classics. The first from this franchise was a laugh riot and so, Rohit Shetty continued to work on the franchise and gave us Golmaal Returns, Golmaal 3 and he’s all set to release Golmaal Again in 2017.

While Ajay Devgn, Arshad Warsi, Tusshar Kapoor remain constant in the Golmaal series, Sharman Joshi was replaced by Shreyas Talpade after Golmaal. Golmaal had Rimi Sen as the female lead, Kareena Kapoor in Golmaal Returns and Golmaal 3 and Parineeti Chopra has been finalised for Golmaal Again.

4. Munnabhai

The Munnabhai series remain a classic and hats off to Rajkumar Hirani who manages to make the series just as fun as the previous one. Who doesn’t know the super-hit combination of Munnabhai (Sanjay Dutt) and Circuit (Arshad Warsi)? Both the actors adapt the tapori accent so well that the film manages to tickle your funnybone every single time you watch it!

Sanjay Dutt was imprisoned for 3 years because of possession of illegal arms which is why Munnabhai 3 was kept on hold. Now that he is a free man, Rajkumar Hirani has announced that he is working on the script and the movie will once again star the fantastic duo of Sanjay Dutt and Arshad Warsi.

5. Dhoom

The action thriller that’s all about bikes and thieves who are expert at robberies. All the series from the Dhoom franchise have seen enormous success at the box-office especially because of the smartly planned robberies and action sequences. Dhoom series will not only make you support the cops (Abhishek Bachchan and Uday Chopra) but you will also side and empathise with the thieves. We think it wouldn’t be wrong to call the thieves in the Dhoom series, ‘anti-heroes’.

While Abhishek Bachchan and Uday Chopra remain a constant in the Dhoom series, the thieves and the female leads keep changing. John Abraham was the villain in Dhoom, Hrithik Roshan in Dhoom 2 opposite Aishwarya Rai and Aamir Khan in Dhoom 3 opposite Katrina Kaif.

6. Koi mil gaya / Krrish

From Koi Mill Gaya to Krrish, Hrithik Roshan has only evolved as a superhero. The man met with an Alien in Koi Mil Gaya and suddenly, a mentally challenged Rohan evolves as a supremely smart superhero. Series after series, Krrish kept on becoming a blockbuster every single time.

Well, who would’ve been better to play a superhero than Hrithik Roshan? So this Hrithik Roshan starrer franchise, had Preity Zinta as the female lead in Koi Mil Gaya, Priyanka Chopra in Krrish and Kangana Ranaut in Krrish 3.

8. Kya kool hai hum

The sex comedy that began with great comic scenes and hilarious punch-lines, fizzled out because of the inclusion of cheap storyline, vulgarity and below the belt humour. The series star Tusshar Kapoor and Riteish Deshmukh and the two play porn-stars in the third instalments where they do films like ‘Chennai Sexpress’, ‘Lick’ and ‘Mughal-e-Orgasm’.

In all the instalments the female lead ends up being possessed, though in Raaz 3D it was Esha Gupta who gets possessed, while Bipasha Basu and Emraan Hashmi fight the spirit. After the first instalment, Dino Moreo was replaced by Emraan Hashmi.

12. Murder

An erotic horror thriller, with Ashmit Patel, Emraan Hashmi and Mallika Sherawat as the main leads, the film became quite a hit among the audience. The Murder franchise did well till the second instalments but the effect it had slowly started faded and Murder 3 turned out to be a flop.
